Tough loss today at Linköpings home pool. A very even exciting game decided at the end were the exclusions combined with the bench shortage and decision mistakes led to the first defeat of the "cops". Great performance of center player Johan Lundén.

Tough loss today at Linköpings home pool. A very even exciting game decided at the end were the exclusions combined with the bench shortage and decision mistakes led to the first defeat of the "cops".

Fantastic atmosphere this evening in Linköpings pool. The cheering audience coloured and filled almost all the stands in the sports hall. In such environment Polisen came with a big enthusiasm to start the Elitserien with good foot and achieve the first win. With some of the usual main players absent, it was a good chance for other players to have minutes and for the debut of new ones.

The game started very intense and Polisen playing very offensive getting exclusions in favor with a great work in the center position. Out of these, after many occasions the "cops" opened the score 0-1. But Linköpings reacted to turn it back 2-1. At the end of the quarter Polisen could draw 2-2. It was going to be an even game.

Linköping opened the second period with a fast goal (3-2). However, Polisen took the gallons and with a fantastic center play by Johan Lundén made a good partial of 1-4 to take the lead of the match (4-6). The local team however shortened distances prior to the half break (5-6).

The second part of the match was an exchange of goals due to the brave fight of both teams. Linköping took the lead by 2 goals (7-9), but Polisen came back to the score (9-9). At the end of the third period the local team was leading 10-9.

In the last quarter Polisen started feeling the bench shortage and the physical strength began to weaken, being to players fouled out. The local team took advantage of that to lead the game 12-10. Polisen though never surrendered and draw the score 12-12. However, good counterattacks by Linköping made a significant difference of 2 goals, finishing the game 16-14.

Good intense fight from Polisen this evening in Linköping that could not be awarded with the first win of the season. Nice minutes performed by the new players.

AdWin MVP of the match: Johan Lundén, who played a magnificient awesome game dominating the center position and being top scorer with 6 goals.

Next weekend it is time to change competition: the Nordic Champions League takes place in Stockholm! Polisen as always will be there representing Stockholm and Sweden to fight to be the top Scandinavian waterpolo team. Soon more information will be posted about the event. Heja Polisen!
